So here I am...
« on: March 19, 2007, 03:56:58 AM »
...years after trading my old A500 for $50 and a rifle. I've got an A1200 with a Blizzard 68030-50 and an MV1200 scandoubler. Trouble is, the fonts are *horrible* and I need to figure out why. My monitor is a Samsung 213T LCD, very nice, but the scandoubler doesn't seem to like it a lot. Isn't there a place to go in the A1200 workbench to change the video settings? Maybe that will help fix my problem. Just don't recall where it is.

Generally, LCD monitors have an "optimal" native resolution.  What that resolution is will depend on the particular monitor.  That Samsung 213T has a native resolution of 1600 x 1200 which means any screenmode other than that will look suboptimal.  Play with your screenmodes to see if you can find something where the fonts become less blocky.  You might just be out of luck with that monitor.

You can then go to the Overscan drawer edit ththe text size.On this screen you can adjust the handles to make the box fill the screen by clicking on the black sqares and moving them untill you have filled the screen. Then click on okay then in the window click on save. You should then close the Prefs drawer.Next go into the system drawer and click on fix fonts and after the harddrive lght stops flshing close the system drawer.Close the Workbench partition and your done

Sweet! You're my new hero. I can now read everything clearly, and my screen size is perfect. Now I'm off to see if Full Metal Planet still works... :-D
