£300 for a standard A1200!!!
« on: March 11, 2007, 09:00:21 PM »
Just been looking through the ad's in the local paper and saw an A1200 in there with a few games, joystick and extra disk drive, priced at £300.
I thought this was a mistake on the printers part so I rang up the guy. He went through the list of games etc. and asked him if he had made a mistake with the price....he said that he found from a well known source that these machines are so rare he was told to sell for a minimum price of £300.
A1200T, 10Mb RAM, 1.3Gb HD, Apollo 030 FPU/MMU, Catweasel MkII Limited Edition, Kickstart 3.1, Workbench 3.5

I used to see 1200's advertised in our local paper almost every week for as little as £30.00, that often included monitor, accelerator and tons of games.

I don't see any these days, obviously people have become acquainted with ebay and Amiga hardware pricing :-(

The market has changed- a couple of years ago, people went through a stage of selling their Amiga kit as quickly as possible due to Windows migration.  There are a lot of those guys who regretted doing that now and Amigas are back in demand to retro users.  We now have New A1200 Magic Packs back in stock again too: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=668

I remember selling a stock A1200 back around 1998 or so for $300. I wish I would have held out ten years for the $600 they're apparently worth now. :-)

Here in Brazil the regular price for non-expanded (even without HD) A1200 is R$300,00 ,who means about US$150.00 or £100 (if my exchanger is correct).

£300 for a plain A1200 is too high, tought.

Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

I bought my first ever A1200 for £250 from a guy in Luton about 10 years ago :-) I absolutely loved it. Coming home and playing Cannon Fodder with my best mate was the most exciting thing ever. And playing WormsDC was even better. I miss those days

I paid the same amount earlier this year for my A4000!
