I don't get the reason for announcing an announcement anyway...

Either you have something to present, then please do so and provide us with the details, otherwise please remain silent and do your homework.

I've cleaned up my A1200 and even bought a new keyboard for it (the original one was showing its age - 13 years!). Any news?

Looks like even the board layout of the Powervixxen is not decided yet:

link to AW post

Wasn't the Powervixxen already said to be in production?

What happened, it all sounded so real - I could almost taste it! :)

Anyone heard any news on this? I'd definitely buy one if it were ever released.

It's nice, the way this thread suddenly sours.

Just relax, sit back and wait.  Producing a real world product doesnt just happen.

I notice from all the posts here only one or two people bother to address the CPU connector sourcing issue.
Any idea how hard it is to find stock of a proprietary connector more than 10 years after initial production?  Maybe if every potential buyer did just one hours research into this problem, you could help the guy out and speed the progress along?

Just an observation...

He found another source and it is no longer an issue.  He mentioned here that he's working on a new high-end board.  It will use the same CPU connector as the AmigaOne XE and MicroA1-c so that anybody who upgrades their A1 can continue to use their same CPU upgrade boards in the new motherboard.

Very interesting product. Thanks to someone for the Google link on it!

I'd be interested in one. (Assuming I have an A1200 by then.)

This product will never be shipped.  Another case of vaporware.

It seems you were right. Jens Schoenfeld's story about his dealings with ACK.

How will Adam be able to get the connectors without Jens?

Yes....the project is late.....yes I haven't been able to source the connectors.  I'm asking for anyone who has a line on a source of the A1200 CPU female connector to e-mail me at a.kowalczyk@sympatico.ca.  Similarly, please email me if you intend to purchase a PowerVixxen LT for your A1200 as I need to know an approximate quantity if/when I get a manufacturer to make them.

Sincerely,

Adam Kowalczyk

Pretty sure the ACK boards were trollware from day one, thus no documentation. :-) IIRC the idea was a re-hash of the AmiJoe.
