Sound software cross-compatibility
« on: November 05, 2002, 06:31:48 PM »
I have quite a lot of stuff that I was doing on the Amiga in the
old days, and quite a bit of newer stuff that I am doing on my Linux box.

My major problem currently is support for Linux, as i have my Linux machine here, and my Amiga in Greece. Ideally I'd like to use either depending on my location. Are there any trackers or music software in general that is cross-platform compatible with amiga nad x86-linux?

Also I'd love to see SoundFX ported to linux.... but I don't reaally think this will happen soon..

Finally, does anyone have the source for med2xm? Or can contact the author at his current email? I'd really want to be able to use it from the linux machine I have here..

@olethros,

Soundtracker for linux (soundtracker.org) supports the MOD format.

I use octamed on my amiga. If  I save my songs as a regular MOD file, then transfer it to my linux box, it
plays fine on Soundtracker.
