Title: Amiga MIO
Post by: swoslover on June 21, 2012, 09:57:10 AM
Sorry if misspelt.

New offering from CUSA and a lot cheaper at only 995.

Would look lovely with OS4 installed :(

The Mio, though your right it probably should be Mia, is the Vic Mini renamed. Which in it's self is a zotac rebadged. Check out my post (http://amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=696518&postcount=30) about it.

I like this

Quote
Our NEW AMIGA Mio is taking off; could end up being our most popular unit yet. The specs are equal to our AMIGA mini, and also has additional features like a multi format card reader, and the easy upgrade path for the customer. It would literally take 3 minutes to upgrade, change or addd a second HDD or SSD and memory. And the best part it's priced on sale for $300 LESS than the equivalent AMIGA mini.

Seems to me they are trying to do premium decoy pricing. Keep the Mini at a premium and offer the exact, as many of us suspected anyway, same system in a different shell at a reduced cost. I would also imagine the reseller thing will require some sort of inflated buy in and possibly a minimum unit order per annum.

It's at ZOTAC's site here for $735:

http://www.zotacusa.com/zbox-giga-id70-plus.html

Barry's only charging $995 for it (since on the site it's a computer for the masses not the classes).  So, the Amiga sticker only costs you $260.

Heck of deal!

Yeah, it would be, if they have built promised community project
PowerPC for 900$.

Surely, the hardware inside is worth about 1/2 of price and Linux is free.

Wow its ZOTAC Mini! Surely, company likes someone is buying their machines.
That makes CUSA great rebrand resallers and producers of hot air.
