Title: Should I pick this mac mini up?
Post by: TheMagicM on July 10, 2009, 08:50:48 PM: its in great condition.. $125. no kb/mouse. 1.2ghz g4, 256mg ram, 40gig hd. it'll be another MorphOS box. upgrade to 1gig ram. should be quick enuff for 2.3, right?

Just make sure you can upgrade to 1G and consider the cost. My Mac Mini is said officially (by local Apple support) not to support 1G RAM. I mean you can upgrade but as long as you can find the proper memory and DIY. Dunno these days but the said RAM spec might be hard to find.

But hell, it's possible. Just keep in mind the fact you can pay some extra for the RAM - and double check if it might be 1G indeed.

Hmm not sure that your price prediction and location availability is exactly accurate, that is if eBay is any indication of supply and demand. :confused:

I've spent some time monitoring prices on ebay and even non or partially functional minis have been going for more money than the one TheMagicM is considering. So snap it up! :-)

Prices have been falling... if they have stabilised then they will stay stable, by the time MOS is released for the MacMini (probably not any time soon), they will either be the same price or less... the PPC MacMini is not going to increase in price...

Well no...they're not likey to go up I agree, unless something very odd happens. Still the price of this mini seems reasonable at the moment whether it would in six months time is anyone's guess.

Any news about this morphos release please!

About the price of this macmini i think its good, cheaper than a MOS license.
