Title: AROS Booting Up
Post by: 4pLaY on July 11, 2002, 08:38:41 PM
AROS won't boot on your PC?  You would still like to see what it looks like?  Take a look here at these pics (http://smaug.moranet.se/~ogun/aros ).

Did anyone else notice at the bottom of the last pic that the monitor has an Apple logo? Is this running on a Mac perhaps? It'd be very interesting to find out. :)

Naah... The Apple monitors are great. A friend of mine is using one for his PC too.

No it's not! AROS is intended to be completely portable. As a matter of fact there is also a 68K native version of AROS for classic Amigas.

That's not exact. Althought it's currently mainly developed on x86, it can run everywhere you port it to. It's been ported also to the Palm Pilot, for example, which has got a 68k compatible processor.

That is what I mean. Seems I was somewhere else with my head at the time of the posting. Ok, 1 down, 2 more to go and I am out. :-D

Hi Fabio,

I think there is still a lot of work left on the Workbench, right?

Nope, it is really just me liking that monitor. The PC running AROS in this case can be seen in front of my keyboard here.

It is an Athlon 650 with two harddrives, one SCSI running the linux dev environment, and one ATA having AROS installed in a FFS partition.

No doubt someone will come up with a hack to let AOS4 run on there :-)
