is anyone here familiar with the TechnoSound Turbo Sampler?
i have just received version II and when i try to start it up i get the following message.
TechnoSound Turbo II needs
arp.library in LIBS directory
any ideas? thanks:)
-
are you using kickstart/wb 1.3?
-
im using Kickstart 3.1 with Workbench 3.1
that is what im told is on my HD.
-
arp library is sometime used for emulation new functions with kickstart 1.2/1.3, but it looks thats not a case here.
so i can suggest download arp from aminet a place it in libs...
http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/arp40_2

Chain: thanks for your help. Any chance you can tell me how to use this file?
i should have said earlier that this is my first time using the Amiga and i did not receive any books so im completely new to this;)
Also it is an A600 with 2mb RAM

Hi
I have a technosound turbo sampler. You should be able to autoboot the disk by putting it in and switching the A600 on. Then all of the files will be present plus you will have more RAM as 2 Meg is not a lot to store sound!

I always used the sampler in protracker for that.
:)

thanks reddwarfer! when i start with the disk in it starts up straight away! only thing now is a really noisey TV speaker..guess i need to hook up an amp and speakers to the Amiga Stereo Outs.
Also can i copy the whole Technosound program to the HD when i autoboot?

Copy everything off the disk to a directory on HD and put the arp.library in your libs: directory then start the program and it should be ok.
BTW I have a question for the board:
Anybody knows a way to use the technosound II software on an 1260 without crashing (other than disabling the board of course)OR is there another program that can use the technosound II hardware? Maybe protracker that another user mentioned or something else? Samplitude Opus crashes as well when trying to sample from parallel port. Any help appreciated!

Vulture: can you please tell me how to copy the disk to my HD and also a spare Floppy Disk? and then how to add the arp.library to LIBS (not sure where this is..)
i have figured out how to Format a Floppy but that is all.
thanks

Yeah, I have the same sampler but found the software no better than the sampler in OctaMED.

ok so there was some info in the Technosound Manual to install it on the HD. I have installed it on my HD (DH0) and then to copy to a Floppy i dragged TechnoSound from the DH0 to the Desktop and then inserted a Formatted Floppy into my DF0 (internal floppy drive) then dragged Technosound from the Desktop to the formatted floppy and it worked, hoorah!
but i would like to make some sort of Folder to store programs such as TechnoSound and ProTracker and then another folder to store the Samples.
I have seen a folder on my desktop that is listed as Games, i guess the previous owner made this folder...
how can i make more folders?
thanks

open the folder which will contain the folders you wish to create then right click, go to the top bar menu called Window and select new drawer.
