A4000D Capacitor replacement | ||

Description: Audio area of the A4000. I replaced all the original capacitors with RS sourced Panasonic electrolytic types. At the same time I took the opportunity to change the audio capacitors to 'bi-poler' types. The PCB was actually quite bad, with the horrid green/dull joints where the electrolyte had leaked out of them. AmigaFun Posts:201 | September 15, 2008, 10:24:40 PM I have no experience in soldering SMD's and when I practiced soldering the normal capacitors on an A1200 motherboard in place of SMD's, the result was quite good and was more than happy with. In hindsight some of the leads on the capacitors could have been cut shorter. Good news is that it all works well and the sound is rather good ! |
Framiga Posts:4096 | September 14, 2008, 12:50:07 PM no need of hot air soldering tools for those SMD capacitors. Some Flux and a small tip (themperature regulation needed at least) Anyway its ok even like you did. |

Currently testing the A4000 now and so far all OK And thats including the sound, which I know has been a point of discussion on these forums before! |
