NEW NETWORK PACKAGE WITH EASYNET SOFTWARE
« on: October 04, 2004, 11:59:09 PM »
The latest PCMCIA networking package has been released from AmigaKit.com

This package contains a 10Mbps PCMCIA ethernet network card, compatible with the Amiga A1200 and A600.

There are instructions with screenshots on how to install the network card with Genesis TCP/IP stack and Miami Deluxe TCP/IP stack.

The software driver comes on floppy with an installer and a utility to prevent the A1200's PCMCIA reset bug.

Also included with the card is the AmigaKit Networking CD which contains the latest distribution of EasyNet. This is a interface for the included AmiTCP 3 stack. Amiga Samba, SMBFS and Samba Handler are also distrubuted on the CD.

The network card comes complete with a XJack connector equipped with a RJ45 socket.

Goto http://shop.amigakit.com for more details on the card and screenshots of EasyNet software.

Also this week only: 128MB BlizzardPPC memory is reduced by 15%.

AmiTCP 3 stack

Just curious, what is the license of this AmiTCP version? Full license text, if possible.

Isn't AmiTCP 3.0b2 (including source code) freely available and redistributable?

Well, the problem is that I can't seem to find it anywhere, so I can't check the license. Maybe it's mysteriously missing from the de.aminet.net mirror or something as silly. Probably I just can't spot the file or so.

Alright. The problem is that I'm blind: I can't seem to find AmiTCP 3.x from aminet, just 2.x and 4.0 demo. Would you be kind enough to point out where the file is so I can check the license?

@tormedhammaren

Thanks.

So at least NetFS author (Timo Rossi) should have been contacted if NetFS is included on the CD-ROM. The thing was I did remember there was some "non-commercial" clause, I just couldn't remember which part it was. :-)

Other than that commercial distribution seems to be ok as-is.

EasyNet is an AmigaKit only product- still being further developed and will allow easy use/configuration of AmiTCP 3 without wading through config scripts in a text editor!  It currently works with many Sana II PCMCIA network cards and works with the new Sana II prism wireless driver.

If you purchased an earlier NETPCM00X kit from us in the past, I will be only too happy to email you with a personalised copy of EasyNet.  Just provide me with the Invoice No.

The product support and information URL for EasyNet will be http://easynet.amigakit.com and this website will open later this week.
