The word on the street is
Intel is
planning to release the first batch Itanium chips at the end of this month. Two or three versions of the chip are expected, a 733Mhz and 800Mhz version with 2megs cache for around $1000-$2000US and a more expensive 800Mhz version with 4megs of cache. Amiga has yet to mention if they plan an Itanium compatible translator.
