Configuring Miami on its own using a wired Ethernet card is reasonably uncomplicated (its main selling point), but problems with configuring a wireless card are huge.
My suggestion is setting up your TCP stack of choice on a $15 wired card first, then once working go to the wireless card issue as a follow up.
