Thomas is right-on.
My goal would be to implement an 8-bit chunky driver for the grafitti using an existing API, such as P96, with Workbench support as my first milestone.
The grafitti is a really interesting piece of hardware. The real problem with it is the lack of software support. An RTG driver would really improve the utility of the little box.
Additionally, an RTG driver might open the door for a second generation Grafitti box. I'm not much of a hardware engineer, but it seems to me that it should be possible to extend the design of the grafitti to generate 16 or 24 bit graphics with AGA using a similar buffering and remapping scheme.
