No, it's not just you......it's been down about 12 hours or so now.
I wonder if something interesting is going on......

Well HMetal was hinting at changes in the os.amiga.com forums to amiga.com. Then again it could be nothing :-) .
Cheers

Team..
Actually the DNS entry is fine... I am able to "trace route" the address fine...
It is "rumored" that Amiga.org and Amiga.com share some comms (perhaps even the same host). So I do not think that there is a comms problem.
If I had to guess, I would think that they are having a "make over"
Regards
Darren

What, nobody claiming that they're bankrupt? :-o
Our trolls must be getting soft.

It's not just down, it has no DNS entry either.
ping www.amiga.com
PING www.amiga.com (209.15.183.102): 56 octets data
64 octets from 209.15.183.102: icmp_seq=0 ttl=244 time=434.3 ms
64 octets from 209.15.183.102: icmp_seq=1 ttl=244 time=471.1 ms
64 octets from 209.15.183.102: icmp_seq=2 ttl=244 time=435.2 ms
...
Similar on os.amiga.com, amigadev.net.
Does not look like a DNS problem. Only Apache seems to be down, ftp is still functioning (ftp.amiga.com, ftp.amigadev.net). Which could mean a upcoming website change, which OTOH does not result in 12 hour downtimes normally.
So most probably its just a web server prob or someone from outside shoot the httpd down. :(
Ciao, Alex

Warning... blatant trolling below
:-D
Amiga Inc have just filed for chapter 11 :-P .
That should get them all started :-D .
-
Hmm, my browser said "Error: No DNS entry". But then, I was using IE at Uni (*shudder*, but I've no choice) and it always go to MSN if an URL fails. MSN lies. Bah. :-x

I was fully expecting to see the same thing... Give 'em time.
-
Amiga.org is hosted on Amiga, Inc servers. Note we're still here. Probably just maintenance. We'll be doing some ourselves here soon( see notice on main page) and may be unavailable for awhile.
-
It's most probably maintenance. Hope some NEW info appears as well when it's back. Or maybe it's just the UFOs :-D

They filed Bankrupture! :quickdraw:
Here comes the judge! :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Looks like we'll have to troll ourselves.
Looks like that lawsuit worked.
Or, the sites were re-written in Amos Pro.
Or, the sites are now on A1 G3s with the 1st Articia chip.
Amiga! No matter what, do NOT post this on www.Morphzone.org, keep it a secret.
-
NAAH.
They're just rebuilding the site using PegasOS. :-D
-
Might I recommend that you try to schedule your down time so that it doesn't coincide with Amiga.com's downtime? Everyone knows the rumors that are going to burn up the net if y'all are both down at the same time. :)
-
Hmmm are they bankrupt?
:-?
though ftp.amiga.com works!
There's even a directory names beta40 :-)
Though I don't have access to it :-(
Bye Manou

I guess they are disassembling MorphOS sources :-D
For inclusion in the OS4 of course ;)
-
I'm gonna edge my bets towards a big bang. No words, no speculationon, simply a new looking site with ALL the news we need, downloads, pics, movie clips, new partners announced, licenced products... The works.
. . . . . And right at the very bottom of the first page.
This site is best viewed with Netscape v2002222.22222.2.2.2.2b or higher with Shockwave & Jam Doughnut plugins. :-D
-
I'm hedging my bets on some silly security patch that got someone all excited, happy, and stuff!

Chapter 11?
No, it won't be a reorganization bankruptcy.
I place 10 dollars, on a forced chapter 7.
ooops....thought this was a betting pool.

Wrong company mate ;-)
Next you be telling me that MorphOS is built upon some Official Amiga OS sources and ambient is a replacement for workbench :-)
Which reminds me, must go buy Star Wars Episode 2 ;-)
-
Ow no, this gives some problems. I am off to Big Linux User Group meeting and sead yestorday at pre-meeting (you have to this if have about 180 people at least each month) that I would bring an copy of "AmigaOS4 Feature Set: Release 1" with me but did print out. Is there anywhere I can get hold of the PDF from?
-
I wouldn't worry. Server admin guy is of for a couple of days to print some T-Shirts by hand....
-
@aMIGA_dUDE:
No problem, I have the PDF. Give me your email in a PM, and I'll send it to you.
Kay
-
DOH! Sorry, I was wrong. What I have is the old featurelist, from december. Sorry. :-(
Kay
-
They all seemed quite cheerful last time I looked...
-
@aMIGA_dUDE
You can find it also here: http://www.nifty.ne.jp/forum/famiga/pdf/features.pdf (http://www.nifty.ne.jp/forum/famiga/pdf/features.pdf )
Good luck, dude! :-D
-
Doh again! Turns out I had the right one too. Oh well, not much use now, is it? I need to get more sleep, I think.
Well, at least my post count is going up. :-D

Yes, their back up. Some teck at the colo must have notice the power cord the other tech tripped on yesturday. :-P
-
They are back up now. I don't remember seeing it before, but in the Amiga Mall, they list OS4 as "coming soon". Is this new?

Nah, I've seen that there before :-)

 I've never seen so much negativity in my life!
The server was down due to a power interruption of some sort at the co-lo site. Once restored, the server had a slight hiccup due to a perfect worst case scenario. I did some work to assure that things come up fine next time there is a power outage.
Doomsayers: sod off. :-P
-
@HMetal
Erm, I think most of this thread was poking fun at the naysayers. 'Course, it was a bit spooky, and we do tend t'spook easy these days...... :-D :-D :-D

-
Well, that was about spot on wasn't it... :-D

Samdu:
Sure, and we'll also cross check it with the schedule of up comming natural disasters.

Okay, so it's back up, but just couldn't resist one last barb.
That's what you get when your server is running on a bank of car batteries connected to solar panels. :-D
Amiga! Okay, everybody get out and push!
-
Actually, we ran out of Energizers and had to put dry cells in for the short term. But at least now the web server will come back up when the batteries need changing again. ;-)

I hope it's an automatic...
Okay, now pop the clutch....

Actually, I thought that Amiga Inc utilised The Pedal-a-Watt Stationary Bike Power Generator (http://www.econvergence.net/electro.htm) :-P .
