I use a 2.5" 40GB HD on my 4000D, takes less space, no heat and less power hungry. It is converted to UWSCSI-III via an Acard 7720UW convertor and I get 22MB/sec.

I don't need to use it yet.

But, its good to know what kind of equipment is out there that you can use on your Amiga, seeing that the number of people making stuff for Ami is darn small.

It could be used to connect a 2.5i HD to the Ethernet board
that I got in my A2000. That has a large IDE interface.

Drivers on a CD-ROM I still need to find a way to access
(found a MountList - just too lazy currently to do anything
about it - especially since the attic has no network ).

I've got exactly the same adapter. You can
connect it to the 2,5" 44pin IDE interface
on your A600/A1200, and hook a 3,5" 40pin
HD/CD on it.
I've tested it once on my A600 and it works
perfect. Since then it's just laying around
here somewhere...

I have one and it works both ways. To connect an 2'5 HD to a 3'5 connector and to connect an 3'5 HD to a 2'5 connector(A600/A1200)

I came across it, when it was mentioned on Cybertechhelp, a very nice PC help forum, as a way for a person whos got a malfunctioning laptop who wanted to get the files off his HD and transfer them to another computer.

Its good to know about these things.
