Title: Amiga Theme for GNOME (Linux)?
Post by: dentaku on September 09, 2005, 09:41:58 PM
I'm looking for GNOME Desktop themes that transforms X to an Amiga GUI as close as possible (preferably blue 1.x Amiga OS). Is there something like that? :-?

It isn't GNOME, but it does what you want: It is called AmiWM (http://www.lysator.liu.se/~marcus/amiwm.html) ;-).

There are a couple of Amiga themes for Enlightenment 16 (well, they are for E15 but work with E16).  I used them constantly when I was making the jump from Amiga to Linux. I'll be very happy if someone does an Amiga these for E17.

There are a couple Amiga inspired themes for Gnome:

Amiga-Newbreed (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=19762)

Amiga BlueTabs-Light (http://wwww.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=19814&PHPSESSID=606152c2f78aed870408dbac60c784d2) (there are a few variations of this theme)

There are also a few 'Birdie' themes for Gnome, But I can't find them on www.gnome-look.org. If you want I can mail the birdie theme's.

Like cass said, amiwm is your best bet. This is a standalone windowing system that looks and acts like classic amigaos.

Here is one that is similar to OS4 standard looks...

I personally use this one and like it quite a bit... I wish i could find some amiga png icons though.
