News from Jens Schonfeld of Individual Computers (https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/33/items/commodore-back-in-germany.html).:
After a pause of several years, fans of classic computers worldwide can look forward to a series of Commodore PCs. The company "individual Computers GmbH," based in Germany and well-known in the Retro-Computing community, has licensed the rights of the Commodore trademarks from Polabe Holding N.V.
The first newly branded Commodore products are span-new cases for the C64 computer, using the original injection molds back from the days Commodore Business Machines produced the C64c. Thanks to these new cases a C64 computer can finally be refurbished after all these years. Distribution of these cases is exclusively done via the online shop of Return-Magazine (https://shop.return-magazin.de/).
With these new c64-Cases, the highest quality standards had to be guaranteed, in line with the high expectations of the name Commodore.
And apparently this is just the beginning:
Back in May 2015, the new main board C64 Reloaded (C64R) was released by hardware designer Jens Schönfeld and this with a huge success. This main board fits in any C64-case and is fully compatible with the original C64 computer. Two new versions of this main board are now being prepared for production. Technical details will be published shortly.
Full details are available at Individual Computers (https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/33/items/commodore-back-in-germany.html).

Well done Jens!
-
Sounds good to me.
-
Glad to see there'll be a new run of C64 reloaded boards. With the cases in production, I assume one will be able to buy a complete system, too!
-
Wow! This is great news.
Finally the licence has been secured by someone who might be able to actually do something with it!

Nice!
I might actually get a reloaded 64 + case myself as I've never had a C64
-
That is really good news! Congratulations to Jens and everyone else involved in making it happen :)
-
This is great! I already have the C64 Reloaded, now waiting for new cases. If I'm not mistaken, Jens even talked about the possibilty of entirely new keyboards. :)
-
the Kickstarter cases were 35USD, what's the expected pricing on these?
-
This, I like very much :)
-
Happy. Will enjoy having one.
-
Awesome news, so much better than rebranded MP3 players and the crap that came before.

I suspect they will cost a bit more as they will be a licenced product, and as I recall the kickstarter cases had quite a few complaints from backers on their quality,
so I'm sure Jens will have much more rebust QA in place.

A new run of the c64 reloaded is excellent news, hopefully they won't sell out before I get one (and they won't be ridiculously expensive).
As I already have complete c64's that don't really work properly, I'll probably pass on the cases (*). Especially as they are pretty boring colours (essentially a choice of c64/c64c/sx64/c16).
My original c64 is in a breadbox case anyway, I wouldn't want to replace that with a c64c case.
I wish he would do a c128 reloaded.
(*) of course if I get them fixed & bullet proof before the new reloaded then that changes everything....

Its a good thing I bought a few of the KS ones, then.
One of the red cases I got had non-uniform color, but it was replaced and all is well.
-
Very cool. I am looking forward to this!!!!
-
Very excited about this news. If they start making the reloaded boards again I will get one of those for sure. Missed out the last time. Now, all we need is someone making keyboards...
-
C64c cases?
That would be cool.
I have an Altera DE-1 I wouldn't mind housing in one one those.
At least they will look better than Barry Altman's cases.
-
I hope he doesn't run out of the Reloaded boards so quickly as the last run. I wasn't able to get one, because the demand was so high it crashed his e-commerce site, and orders couldn't be placed online.

Same here, thought I'd been quick enough then couldn't get the checkout to load

I'm hoping for something like this being included off the shelf.

Flash memory for the kernel would be nice too.

I was part of the kickstart campaign for the batch of new C64 cases a while back. I missed the run of Reloaded boards too. I still have the new cases though :)

Or http://singularcrew.hu/plus256k/ even :-)
2mhz mode the same as c128 would be fun too.

Why not faster?
The 65C02 is available at much higher speeds.
If you're creating an fpga, why not incorporate the cpu and run it at 16 or 25 MHz?

Superb situation. Bit concerned that they are calling the Beige 64c case "Original Bread Bin". That's potentially misleading. But to have a new modern case and keyboard; fantastic.
-
Anyone heard anything about Amiga Reloaded? Individual seem to have gone quiet on this for over a year.
-
Nope :(
-
Amiga Reloaded is......... VAPORWARE!!! :python:

Should be a lot more affordable than a certain other project. Good news for people such as myself.
Hope we hear something soon!
