Description: Circa 1997/8, Finale Development was working on a new browser, WebCruiser. The features included such things as Moca (JVM), JAmi (JavaScript), and promised to be the greatest browser ever... Then, they lost programmers... This is a real screenshot from WebCruiser beta 3. weirdami Posts:3776 | December 08, 2008, 09:00:27 PM So with all the hubbub going on back then about Amiga web browsers, these guys didn't make a peep? |
Targhan Posts:818 | August 27, 2008, 07:32:52 PM IIRC, this picture, and the project, was before the implementation of CSS as a standard. It may even predate CSS's development. I believe the source code for this project has been lost, though I am not 100% sure. |
rkauer Posts:3263 | February 06, 2008, 05:45:29 AM Sad, really sad... But always have a hope. Can someone contact the former company and ask for the source codes to improve some of the new browsers? |
XDelusion Posts:5089 | November 08, 2007, 11:49:49 PM Well that bit of info makes my gut churn. Never good to hear about what could have been, but never was. :/ |

HopperJF Posts:1531 | January 13, 2005, 12:28:46 AM Hmm looks like unfortunately I was wrong :-( I take it the new iBrowse does not support CSS either. |
rayt Posts:322 | August 23, 2004, 05:09:57 PM But Ibrowse still has no jvm and no full javascript support.. |
HopperJF Posts:1531 | May 27, 2004, 11:36:38 PM looks promising, but iBrowse 2.3 probably walks all over it now |
