The RAM would be the biggest selling point, since for most people using GVP-brand accelerators in their A2000's, know how hard it is to find compatible RAM.  IMHO I wouldn't be interested unless it was at least 68040 speed and instruction-set compatible, MMU, and SCSI.  In other words, I'd prefer a 33MHz 68040 over a 400MHz 68000.  But I am probably not the target market for this board.  ;)  Would be good for unaccelerated A2000 owners however, and breathe new life into all of them that keep popping up on ebay.

Imagine an A2000 with this hypothetical "ACA 2000", and a BPPC / BVision.  I know it's been done on A500's.  Of course then it will just drive the price of these old accelerators even higher.  Ya just can't win!  ;)

Seems to be some direct info from Jens here on this thread, as well as links. ACA 1000 that adds 2MB of chip mem? Hadn't heard of that one! ;)

@OldsmobileMike, I am sure that the 68000 Soft-Core that is reported to run at 400MHz or more already has some of the 68020 instructions integrated, or will have some, or most of the 68020 instructions implemented in the near future. That is the great thing about FPGA Soft-Core CPU's, is that the programmers writing them can enhance them with extra instructions, or improved instructions. I don't know if we will ever see 680x0 Soft-Core CPU's that include all of the 68040 and/or 68060 instruction sets, but perhaps the programmers working on these Soft-Core designs will be able to add the most used and needed instructions, so that 90% of the software optimized for 68040 and 68060 CPU's will be able to run on these FPGA accelerators and stand alone systems using Soft-Core CPU's.

Awesome, that would be exactly what I'm looking for! Call it laziness, but I've already optimized the heck out of my A2000 system for 68040, I don't want to go back! ;)

+1 on the "you had a bit of cash back then" comment. Interest free loans, must be nice! Early '90s I was making about $6 an hour, seem to recall saving for months to get an A1200. On the flipside I had four cars... I miss the days when I could buy some old junker for $200! :laugh1:
