New SoCal Amiga user group???
« on: July 17, 2005, 09:37:02 PM »
I thought I posted this a few days ago, but couldn't find it.  Any Amiga users and/or enthusiasts in the Southern California area that are interested in joining me to form an Amiga User Group, please write to me at amigadave@earthlink.net

Classic Amiga, UAE of any flavor, Amiga 1, Pegasos/MorphOS users are all welcome and wanted.

I am all for it so long as its not to far a drive from San Diego for a monthly meeting. Lets get this started!!! I can post this on a few other sites as well if you like.

P.S. You should also post this over at Amigaworld.net (I would but I have removed myself from the site)

@ Acill,

I am sure we can find somewhere mutually agreed upon for the meetings that is not too far from you, but let's get more people interested in becoming members first.  I will take your advice and visit Amigaworld.net to post the original message.  Feel free to post it on any other Amiga related sites you think will get us more members from.

Isn't there a LA group still?  I've seen them listed in the LA Times, but didn't know if it was still around.

BTW, I'm in Redondo Beach.  So, I might be interested in a meeting if it was close enough.  If not for anything other than to meet the great Acill in person.  :-D
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

c64_d0c, adolescent & jonbyk,  please send me an email and let me know if it is okay to add your names to the list of potential members.  One in Redondo Beach, one in Brentwood, where are you located c64_d0c?  If you have any info on a L.A. user group let me know.  I have not been able to find any groups in Southern California.

P. S. I fired up one of my A1200's w/060&scsi today.  That flickering screen brought back fond memories, but I think I'll be looking for a scandoubler/flicker fixer real soon.  I have never used this one before, but I had to buy it last year because it was such a good deal.  Looks like it has OS 3.5 or 3.9 installed.  I guess I am ready to schedule our first meeting which should be just to get to know each other a little, share Amiga stories, decide on a group name, discuss the purpose of the group, etc.  I will bring the pizza, BYOB or what ever you want to drink.  I'll find a place after I see who is coming, where they are coming from and what date will work for all of us.  Send email addresses to me so I can create a group in my address book.

This is going to be fun
