Lindows CNN story

with a retail price of $799, or half the cost of similarly equipped notebook computers from Apple, IBM and Toshiba that run more conventional software.

The company, which already offers a $199 desktop computer running Linux software, introduced its 2.9 pound Lindows Mobile PC computer running a 933 megahertz microprocessor from Taiwan's VIA Technologies Inc., a small rival of computer chip giant Intel Corp..

What, can they do that?
I didn´t think so seems to be standard x86 stuff and lindows is an x86linux right?
it´s probably orginally aimed at the asian market, they have just rebadged it.

I am sure that is quite possible. It is based
on a normal VIA EPIA motherboard and
the CPU, VIA C3, is 100% x86 compatible.

I have 2 of those motheboards myself.
My server is running Win 2000 Server
on EPIA800 and my mediabox 2000 Pro
(EPIA M9000).

I bought Lindows. Wow. Installs very quickly and easily, easy to use. Installing programs with Click 'N Run (CNR) is fast, fast, fast. You can keep looking at more programs in their catalog while a program is in process of downloading and installing.

And based at least partly on my request, they added UAE to Click 'N Run.
