Configuring drive in 2500
« on: January 10, 2003, 06:55:51 PM »
Anyone know if a Seagate ST34572 drive (4gig) can be configured to run on a A2500?

If so, how? :-?

Is that SCSI or IDE?  Doesn't really matter.  It should work without a problem.  What version AmigaOS are you using ???

Should work.  Just plug it in and try it.  Might have to do some setup of it with HDToolBox or some other hard drive prepping utility.

It didn't recognize it at first.

Using the HD Utility - when auto config was tried it saw it as a 128Meg drive.

When I tried to manually set the number of cylinders (6311) and heads (8) it also wants to know how many tracks/cylinder and blocks/track. Not knowing the last two items I left them alone.

It says it formatted but I can't see it mounted.

HD Utility???  Is that the name of it?  Never heard of that before, if so.  Try HDInstTools from Aminet.
