Installing Hard Drive in A1200

Hello everyone, i am new to owning a 1200, so please bear with me.

I have just purchased a 500mb 2.5" hard drive and i know i need to buy an ide cable, but do i also need to buy a power cable?

Also does anyone have a link to some good instructions for fitting a hard disk.

no you don't need a power cable, the 2.5 inch disk take power from the ide cable.
here you will find some info about amiga 1200 hardware and hard disks too.

here is a 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor if you want in the future to try a 3.5 inch hard disk amigakit and here is a 2.5 inch ide cable.
