Hehe, my first thought was exactly that actually! Really! The banner had this kind of "Red" aura all over it! ;-) :-D

For me, computers are about the future, not the past.

This name has an especially unfortunate bad taste for me, because there is a group of people who, unfortunately I met one time,  that have joined together to form a 'society for creative anachronism'...which is basically when adults 'play house' like children, with costumes and dolls and everything.

I don't mind the nostalgia, but when the Amiga is nothing more than remembering the past, I'll pass.

I think the point is that he sells computers from the past. The word 'anachronism' has to do with things being out of place in time, like a guy wearing a leisure suit, or a period movie where they use modern slang. Red sells old computer stuff, today, so it's a pretty good name to use.

Those freaks who do the adult baby stuff, I'd say, are using the word wrongly. They're not out of place chronogically, they're just pervs.  :nervous:

Actually, Red uses a time portal to get his NOS that he sells today.

Doing something medieval today would be practicing something that is no longer done thus out of its normal time period.

Ummm, let me get this straight - you guys get into suits of armour, then bang each other over the head with weaponized crowbars.  For fun.  Um.

Part of me is thinking, "these guys are totally off their rockers", while another part is thinking, "that is SO awesome!".  It's an interesting sensation...

Agreed. The awesome-part takes more place in my mind, though.
Isn't it kind of strange? Many people allmost worship the old japaneese and chineese arts of war, but no one cares about the trusty old claymore swords anymore? :-?

Padded weapons are Markland.  SCA (pronouced Scaids by some) doesn't bother with padding or calling most blows either. :-)
