no, but you can buy an internal expansion to connect HD and faster processor and FastRAM.

Yes, you can read these CD and you can install on HD if you buy internal expansion hardware.

Yes, you can program with AmosPRo CD32 and save on floppy.
CDrom of CD32 isn't a recorder, only a reader.

Yes, but before you have to load Workbench environment with CDfilesystem loaded.
Better to have NetworkCD for CD32/CDTV to boot and then use any Amiga CDrom software.

HI,

@rednova,

One thing I know for sure about the CD-32 is that it is black in color and that it plays CD's.

For all the rest read the page that rockape pointed to.

For all other options find a SX-1 because CD-32 will only use CD's . I have one up in the attic somewhere, with the SX-1 it is a pretty good AGA computer.

(anyone seen a white CD-32?)

You may want to source the  SX-1 before you even think about a CD32. I seen them go for $350 on ebay! SX32 with an 030/50 $700+

The SX1 is also pretty big and ugly :)

Also if you plan to do any CD32 gaming, I would consider a PAL unit. Most of the software it written for PAL and NTSC stuff works a lot better in PAL than the other way around. The CD32 can optionally run in 50 or 60 hz, but It can't change the frequency of the color signal, so typically, when running a different refresh rate, if you get any picture at all, it is void of color.

If you get a SX1 then this is not a big issue because you can use the RGB output.

NTSC units also came with the caps installed in backwards, and I don't think they are as reliable as the PAL, but the part about reliability is just my opinion. I may just be upset because I have had some NOS NTSC CD32s that turned out to be pretty unreliable.

Hi:

I just had a great idea !!! and a solution to my problem !!!
All i wanted for the cd32 was to read amos pd cd into amospro.
Now that I know how to format a DD floppy disk, all I need then is:
To read the amos pd cd into my pentium pc, transfer the programs I want
into a floppy disk, transfer the floppy disk into amiga, read into amospro
from floppy.
Now I can read all amos pd cd into amiga without spending a dime !!
I do have a printed catalog of all amos pd cd, so I can easily find what
i want for use in amos.
(I think the muses might have helped me )
Thanks all!!!

Another, easier way would be to just make an iso of your amospd cd and transfer it to your amiga harddrive. You can then just mount that iso with VIrtualCD on the amiga :)

No need to keep copying back and forth for floppy that way.

I really should go through my AMOS PD cd properly one day. A few years ago I got a good ebay bargain on amos stuff. Amos The Creator, boxed with manual, Amos Pro with Manual, Ultimate AMOS book, Intos (intuition extension(with Manual)), AMOS PD cd1, f1 licenseware cd, and about 50 discs of assorted amos extensions.
Cost me $26 if I recall correctly :)
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.
