X-Surf IDE ports
« on: February 25, 2024, 09:39:11 AM »
Is it possible to use a IDE --> SD or CFD adapter?

I have a x-surf 3cc with two IDE ports. I know they are not autobooting but was wondering if I could use a IDE --> SD or CFD adapter?

I have one on the way off of ebay. In the meantime I've hooked up an old 20GB IDE drive I had lying around. I dropped the IDE driver into the expansion drawer. HDToolbox recognised the drive and I installed PFSAIO. Is working fine and transfer rates seem to be a bit better than what I get with SCSI2SD.

If I put the IDE driver in the flash memory of my Deneb could I autoboot off the X-Surf?

Much appreciated Thomas. Loaded the x-Surf IDE into the flash ram on the Deneb; installed the IDE drive and set it up with PFSAIO; cloned my current boot drive to the IDE drive and it works a treat. Transfer rates are a bit quicker than the SCSI2SD card.

The reason for not plugging the IDE drive into the USB ports is I damaged them when installing the Deneb card. I only have one working USB port (the two internal header ones don't work). The card works fine other than that.
