1) I think there's Altivec support in the latest version of GCC, so I think taking use of Altivec will be possible almost immediately. None of the existing Amiga apps use altivec, I do not know about LinuxPPC apps.

2) I think A1 can use same CPU cards than some apple models (like the G4 Cube). There exists such cards also from third parties (up to dual 1.2Ghz)... Surely some driver/HAL work is needed, though. And kernel support for SMP. I do not think we se SMP support on OS4 anytime soon, but I bet some geek will implement some weird WarpUP2 library that enables AMP...

3) Not possible untill the needed SW is ready. I have no idea when...

-G4/800  (preferably with 2MB of L3 cache)
-2GB RAM
-Radeon9700PRO (AIW model with firewire when it appears)
-SB Audigy (with firewire)
-PCI-A1200 bridge
-one slot free for SCSI RAID system or something

+ the usual bunch of stuff (a few 60GB 7200rpm IDE drives in SW RAID configuration, DVD drive, CD-RW, Antec tower case, 3D sound system, dual LCD monitors, etc...)

(I do not plan any use for the fourth PCI slot untill it is clear how well it works with the 2xAGP slot)
