Does anyone here play much?

I went through a phase of playing for small amounts with friends. Always had a tendency to win say, 12 pounds one night, and lose 15 the next, then win five, etc i.e. always broke about even.
I never really realised till I started playing, how its possible to have a whole evening of {bleep} hands. Sure, you can use situations like that to bluff, but even so, its hard to win with Sweet Fanny Adams in terms of hands...

BTW, we used to play 'dealer's choice' - which usually resulted in Draw Poker of Texas Hold 'em...
I like Amigas

I've never quite got the hang of poker beyond playing against my Amiga for the honour of seeing a badly pixelled representation of a disrobed lady on my screen (I was fifteen years old at the time).

Way back in the day I used to play a variation on Blackjack with a buddy of mine, games used to go on all night and we'd talk nonsense, smoke cigarettes and occasionally enjoy a beer or two.  Them were the days...

Because back then I was still at school and therefore short on disposable income, the currency of choice during our games was matchsticks.

"I'll raise you one Ship for your Swan Vesta".

O/T

Not sure if anyone can help with this one, but we used to play a game christened "Three Card B@st@rd Break" which involved obtaining three cards of the lowest value as the remaining cards in your had at the end of the game were totalled up.  Damned if I can remember the rules...

Easy, get stuck into the pies beforehand.
