A1500 Battery damage | ||

Description: This was most likely caused when I pulled the CPU out. But the socket was trashed anyway so nothing to worry about. Hope to get new socket soon and finish cleaning board.

cv643d Posts:1197 | September 04, 2008, 10:00:22 PM My A4000 motherboard had similar damage, but not as much as your motherboard. I noticed green stuff on the kickstart sockets when I installed 3.1 roms, so the green stuff can travel really far over the motherboard! |
AmigaFun Posts:201 | September 04, 2008, 05:40:13 PM In reply to cv643d, I hope not. It did boot up OK. But at the moment I have the CPU socket out now and waiting for the replacement to arrive. Then need to re-solder some of the joints in that immediate area. The leaking battery has caused more damage than I first realized. Still, I want her back up and running, so it will be all worthwhile. |
