Browsing with MIPS
« on: April 07, 2015, 03:05:50 AM »
I am browsing this eve using my new MIPS based CI20 board. It is a Raspberry-Pi sized development board. I had hopes of doing some AROS porting to this MIPS board, but I just can't get enough free time for more projects lately. Anyone else checked out these  new boards yet? The OS is embedded selinux and the browser is mozilla based iceweasle. Screen updates moving and resizing app windows are kind of clunky. I'd hope for better with the CPU and ram specs but maybe the powervr video isn't optimized.

My typing not perfect, either.  I frequently (leave) words out.  ;)

Off topic: Are you also a fan of the first generation Javelin?

I was tempted to get a CI20 board, but the PI2 was brought forward to compete. The Bluetooth and wifi built does make up for the price difference, but the PI2 will be getting some form of Windows 10.

I see that I made a couple of late-night grammar errors. I made a couple of edits to hopefully make it clearer. Better now or not?

Yep, and that's one my other projects taking up time right now. I'm rebuilding a 1969. Impressive that you recognized it, few these days do. :)

I didn't want to say anything, but the initial post was kind of a head-scratcher.  Oh well, we've all been there, good luck testing out the new board!

Better, as long as it wasn't caused by lag in the keyboard interface.  That might reduce suitability.

I had a '68 with the inline six as a teenager.  Of the Pony-car styles available then, I think the Javelin had the most graceful lines.  ;)  I liked the Challengers, too.

Good luck with the restoration!
