Sounds like a bad power supply.  Are you using an A1200 or A500 supply?  Use a beefier suppply instead. My A500 overheats in about 30 minutes and causes freezing, crashes, etc.  It could also be a bad cpu on the accelerator.  That 68020 is overclocked and may be damaged as a result.  It could also be a dirty edge connector.  Try removing the card, cleaning the edge connector with isopropyl alcohol or a pencil eraser, reseat the card and test.

Switch off the computer for 10 mins. Cold Boot for your Workbench floppy disk and not your hard disk- this will boot a 'clean' environment.

Does the accelerator crash- if so it is not software.

hmmm. maybe it is the power supply. check this out:

when the power light flashes lighter and darker (when there is a problem - we all know what that looks like)... i restart but some times it will just keep on restarting - this is very hard to explain::

you know when you first restart you have different shades on your screen well they occur but then they keep on reiterating and i need to turn the PSU off and on until sometimes it will work again. apparently its a 1200 PSU it does look like one to be honest. its an old 1200 one though (not black).

Try it with your A500 heavy brick PSU

hey AKit. i will do.

but this is a little strange. i just came in from college. and i booted WITHOUTH HD1 - left it on "clicking" and no freezes! then, booted again with everything normal and again NO FREEZES. things are so inconsistent here.
