3.1.4 and RexxMast
« on: January 18, 2019, 06:19:33 AM »
I just wanted to share that Rexxmast is not getting started in default 3.1.4 startup-sequence like I had it in 3.9.  I didn't realize it was not started and it caused various issues.  YAM install script is using AREXX and I was using AREXX in WHDLoad in a start-up/clean-up script to turn off my TCIP/IP stack.   There were no warnings that RexxMast was not running in those programs -- instead I got a hang in YAM install script and WHDLoad games would fail to work correctly.

Now I have put it back in user-startup and all is okay.  This is just FYI for anybody that is encountering same issue.

IIRC 3.1 and earlier don't run it by default, since it uses memory and the principal of the day was don't take up my memory for optional things. And 3.1.4 follows the same rule since it's still derived from 3.1.

What would have been nice is if the original rexx sys lib would have just done it automatically when first opened.

Thanks -- yes that would be nice to have an autostart of rexxmast
