DOpus on Windows is really nice, I used it on and off with the trial periods.

If it was cheaper, I would have bought it, but they are pricing themselves about twice too high.

Explorer just isn't bad enough to replace it with something that costs almost as much as Windows itself.

I use Windows commander, or total commander as it i dubbed now.
It is the closest i ever came to dopus 4....

freecommander is free but I dont like it much. I found dopus pretty good but it felt slow somehow. there is also far commander. I tried a lot out on windows and dos, most of the windows ones sucked or were crappy shareware utils there were mostly second thoughts.d

I've tried to use dopus for Windows, but it doesn't work for me.

The problem for me is that it doesn't replace enough. I would want it to offer not just file listers, but also replace the desktop itself, and pretty much offer the same features that DOpus Magellan does. That is, offer a real Windows shell replacement.

I used it for a while and never really decided if I liked it or not. It's both more advanced than dopus mag in some ways and behind in others, but with a Windows twist. I will say I prefer it to dopus 4.x (although that's not saying a lot), but vs dopus mag I think I prefer magellin (although maybe because I know it better).

At the end of the day Explorer does a decent enough job and has enough features that it's unnecessary for me, so never bothered re-installing it again.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

I didn't care for it in the least and found it extremely unstable over time and not worth using, and I gave it as good of a proverbial college try as I could over the span of a few months.

totally opposite of my experience as I find it to be rock solid stable under Win7 Pro and have it setup just like my miggies with the classic 2 panes but also love that i can open up as many listers imagineable which is priceless for me.

I use it on ubuntu via Wine and works very well to not be native. It have a bit minor issues and configuration of actions on filetypes it's a bit tricky but overall use its satisfactory (at least for my taste yours could be different)
