Kickflash (Individual Computers)

kickflash? I have 2 of them man! they are sold!!!

That was my first reaction because I've sold dozens of them, but my memory soon cleared up.

What you have is *not* a Kickflash, they were never made. What you have is a KickflashOS4. The original kickflash was a drop in replacement for the original ROMs and was to be available for all Amiga models including A1000, A500, etc etc.

Additionally, it does make a difference whether a product is announced as a future product or a mere design study (e.g. Boxer).

uhh... The BoXer was not a design study. Many people preordered due to false press releases...

I lost my OS4 preorder money twice over (preordered two copies), and I still like my OS4!  And, I did get ONE t-shirt....  I was pretty insulted that I didn't get the second one, although I was surprised to get one at all especially because they didn't have my current address.

Thanks for reminding me!! I added the "I Am Amiga" Coupon to the vapor list.

Hmm.. does that count as hardware :-?

-edit-
Naah, I've removed it. Not hardware.

I thought the Delfina flipper actually existed??

Are we sure it's vapour?? I could swear otherwise, my memory might be failing though.

I think this was addressed earlier in the thread, but here we go.

The "Delfina Flipper" was announced with a "flipper" interface. The "Flipper" interface meant a zorro connector on one side and a PCI connector on the other side. This product never was released.

What was released was the Delfina "Flipper Edition". This product was clock port only, completely different.

Here's another two to add to the list;
Comspec Arm 1000 (Amiga Rom Module for A1000)
Comspec SA500 (A500 SCSI Expansion Adapter)

The ARM 1000 allows you to add a Kickstart 1.3 ROM to the A1000.

I played with the prototype but it was never released to the public due to limited interest and required Hardware modifications.
The PAL Ground Modification was required and the PAL Chips at U6J and U6L on the Daughterboard needed to be replaced. Also some PaL jumpers were required
between Pin 1 of U6J to Pin 19 of U6K and Pin 15 of U6L.
I still have a copy of the manual.

Also unlike other Comspec Expansions for the A1000 the case was plastic and not metal like the AX1000 and SA1000

Added Comspec Arm 1000 (Amiga Rom Module for A1000) and Comspec SA500 (A500 SCSI Expansion Adapter)
