09-09-09
« on: September 08, 2009, 06:50:46 AM »
Greetings,

Just wondering, what would happen once we hit this date. For me it's the day I need to pay my bills  or maybe a virus/worm/trojan might appear that would wreck havock on the internet. A busy day. :)

Some had interesting answers(wikianswers):
• This coming September 9, 2009, is the 252nd day of the year, 252 adds to 9, and 09-09-09 = 27.
• 09-09-09 is also the last of the single-digits dates for quite a while - 1,001 years to be precise.
• It is also the upside-down number of "the beast" - satan = 666, of course.
• The day itself falls on a Wednesday and both Wednesday & September have 9 letters.

Regards,

GiZz72

Yes and at 09:09 and 09 secs on the 09/09/09 (American or international format) we will have quite a serial array of nines.
But nowhere near as serial as what will happen exactly 2 years, 2 months, 2 days, 2 hours, 2 minutes and 2 seconds from then.....

Roll on 11:11:11 on the 11/11/11.

Of course for all this to work you have to use a short date format and ignore the century.

cheers.

Makes me wish I had lived in the year 1111. Imagine it being 11:11:11 on 11/11/1111! Of course, they probably didn't have the technology to measure time accurately enough back then, and might not even have used the same calendar. Ahh well.

On a more serious note, I was quite anxious about 09/09/09. The attacks on the World Trade Center occurred on 09/11, which is similar to the US Emergency Services number. 999 is the UK's Emergency Services number. I wonder whether the recently foiled aerial terrorist attack on Britain was planned for today, 09/09/09. Scary to think that we could all be reeling from a horrific attack right now, had the terrorists not been stopped.

Our Emergency number is the other set of digits 000!  Most of the rest of the world is of course 112, which is either the first of December or the 11th of February....

So you're safe until the calendar ticks over from 9999 to 0000 ;)

Actually I think you're the winner as the most bizarre thing is that you hadn't the capacity to suss out it was a joke - i.e. you're all discussing dates - therefore I made a quip about it being a dating agency (simples). A rather droll quip I'll admit, but I didn't think it too hard to work out.
