Macbeth
« on: February 03, 2005, 08:01:35 PM »
Ok, there's only one main reason for me to start this thread and that's pure egotism. This is just so you all know right from the start. :-D

article in The Daily Telegraph mentions a friend of mine who is one of several "historians" (as the article calls them) who have taken it upon themselves to set the record straight about Macbeth.
Quote
Historians have joined the campaign, including Prof John Beatty of the City University of New York, who wants 2005 to be declared the "Year of Macbeth".

other articles:The Scotsman, The Daily Record, The Herald & Sun (Australia).

plus, i just got this email:
Quote
>I am being interviewed on BBC tonight -  6:20 NY time about Macbeth. Apparently it is all over the press in Britain - not just Scotland/
YIKES.
John

John has been on this "quest" for some time and has made a little documentary on the subject. He's hoping to get this on some channel (the History Channel, BBC, i'm guessing).

and, of course, would also like to put this on a DVD/CD with addtional info. naturally, I've been asked to help out with that.

It was all John's idea to call 2005 The Year of Macbeth.

more details as I get them.
