I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but as its general I guess it is.
Blueyonder Internet (http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/blueyonder/getContent.jspx?page=bbs_evenfaster) announced today that in September they will increase the speed of their service across the board and reduce the price of the premier service by £15.
I have the 4mb service and it’s going to a whopping 10mb!!! For free and I'll save £15 a month to boot.
512 users will go to 2mb, 1mb to 4mb, 2mb to 10mb and 4mb to 10mb with a price reduction.
All for free!
Wonder how my Amiga will cope with 10mb on tap, lol
-
That's good news. I must remember to ask for the monthly statements from my landlord otherwise he may be tempted to fail to advise me of the reduction. At the moment my connection is 1mb...so I will get 4mb, eh?
Yes, man!!! Gimme more power, Igor!
Edit: it seems there may not be a reduction for me, but I still get the speed increase.
-
Yeah you'll get 4mb for no extra charge :-o
Edit: only the top of the line service get a cost reduction from £50pm to £35pm X-Ray.
-
BT have upgraded all accounts as well... though only to double the download speed... upload speed remains the same
-
Yah, 10Mbit rocks, nothing better than seeing your downloads race towards you at over 1024KB/s, only seen it a few times though :-D
-
I have NTL 3Mbps and they are upping that to 10Mbps for free too. :-)
-
This is way cool news for both users of NTL/Telewest.
He some geeky info for your DOCSIS3.0 (cable modems protocol) and transfer 200Mbps Download/100Mbps Upload. ADSL2 can only do 24Mbps.
Also I post this early on that there is fan of Amiga at blueyonder.

I used to drink Becks, coz it was 99p a bottle in my local years ago. It's ok, but Stella is my tipple. Especially the 2 litre bottles. :-)

Mmmm, I used to like that stuff. It tastes gnarly. Now my alcohol "intake" is restricted to mouthwash and bonjela. :inquisitive:

Lister - How much food is there?
Rimmer - There's half a bag of soggy smokey bacon crisps, a tin of mustard powder, a brown lemon, three water biscuits, two bottles of vinegar and a tube of bonjela gum ointment.
Lister - Gum ointment?
Rimmer - Yes, it was in the first-aid box. It's that minty flavour. Quite nice.
Lister - It's quite nice if you smear it on your mouth ulcer, but you can't sit down and eat it.
Rimmer - You may have to.
