What would be nice is basic amiga 1200 mobo, with all same connectors as a original. That way we could use our expansion cards, or maybe build new towered amigas, with mediator/aca030 etc.
ACube Sam 440ep Flex 800mhz, 1gb ram and 240gb hd and OS4.1FE
A1200 Micronic tower, OS3.9, Apollo 060 66mhz, xPert Merlin, Delfina Lite and Micronic Scandy, 500Gb hd, 66mb ram, DVD-burner and WLAN.
A1200 desktop, OS3.9, Blizzard 060 66mhz, 66mb ram, Ide Fix Express with 160Gb HD and WLAN
A500 OS2.1, GVP+HD8 with 4mb ram, 1mb chip ram and 4gb HD
Commodore CDTV KS3.1, 1mb chip, 4mb fast ram and IDE HD

I'm holding on for the FPGAArcade initially, although I might also get a Natami once that's completed. I think programmable logic is a great way to preserve old systems - especially when the same board can have multiple different systems running on it.

I used to have an A1200, and then around 2000 I had an A1200 tower with PowerPC board and graphics, but I sold that because I didn't have any time to use it, so hopefully it went to someone who made better use of it. Of course back then I was also hopeful of that first AmigaOne board coming out fairly quickly - which it didn't.

you  believe in natami? I havent seen one screenshot

You haven't looked very hard, then.

(That's the LX card bringup. Thomas Hirsch has just a few days ago confirmed that the MX card now runs the LX cores, and previously confirmed there only appears to be a minor easily patched problem with the MX boards, so when they've been tested a bit more it's likely that this board will be the basis for their first production run with at most minor changes)

Personally, with both the Natami and Replay boards nearing completion, I can't see myself buying a classic again other than for the case and keyboard (I'd love being able to stick a Replay board with the 68060 daughter board in an A1200 or even A600 case if it'll fit...).  But that's probably since my sentimental attachment to the actual hardware has had quite a few years to cool off.

It'd be fun to have one, but I just can't see enough reasons to justify it compared to getting new compatible hardware.

But I'm sure lots of people who already own them will hold on to them as best they can no matter what...

Only if people throw their original games in the bin could some ADF using alternative even come close to replace an actual Amiga :)
