Acoustic guitarist seeks 'puter prog advice
« on: June 30, 2004, 01:44:22 AM »
Aloha! May I ask a few questions of any ways to
feed my new electric guitar thru my peecee to some
headphones or speakers?  Do I need an attenuator to
either to the onboard (ASUS A7N8X DLX) or a sbliVE!
Card?  Don't want to blow anything up, heh.

the googling I did turned up so many ads that I thought
to ask my homepage boys  :-D

When I was younger I used to plug the output of my stepdad's amp straight into his laptop's sound card, heh...

Um, that worked but it was probably quite dangerous. The safest thing is probably to direct inject (pref. with a proper DI box) your guitar into a nice mixer and plug the line out from the console into your sound card's line level input.
