C64 Orchestra - Run 10
« on: December 21, 2007, 12:42:06 PM »
Just wondering if anyone else has heard this album? It's really good! Anyone who loves the games from which the music comes would get a real kick out of hearing the orchestrated versions, but the music is fantastic in its own right. I particularly like Myth, which has been transformed from a fast paced classic chip tune into a really beautiful and quite moving piece.

My only criticism would be the name of the album. I think "Press Play on Tape" would have been much cleverer :-)

PPOT does indeed already exist, it's a band playing classic SID tunes on instruments if I am not mistaken.

@moto
Got some linkies to the ol' tube or something?

Oh I didn't know there was already an album called Press Play on Tape. That's cool :-) Here's a link to C64 Orchestra's MySpace page, which has some pieces you can listen to.

http://www.myspace.com/c64orchestra

Also if you find their album on the iTunes store you can hear clips of all of them. I am trying to find an equivalent but for Amiga tunes, since I was never really in to games on the C64. Any suggestions?

PPOT <- C64 stuff played by a band. Check out their rendition of the Monkey Island tune, that's really cool =).
Immortal 1 through 3 <- Remastered Amiga mods.
Visa Röster, C64 stuff a capella.
C64 audio shop.
Remix 64.

And a plug for Slay Radio.

Not a big scene around Amiga music it seems. The C64 Orchestra sounds neat, but it isn't all very recognisable. In that respect Visa Röster sounds cooler if you ask me (even if I like symphonic music =).
