Songs At Pavarotti Mourning Ceremony
« on: September 08, 2007, 04:13:30 PM »
What are the name of the songs during the Pavarotti mourning ceremony at the Cathedral?

The first one is "Ave Maria" by Raina
The second song is "Panis Angelicus" by Bocelli

What is the last song sung by a female singer and choir, before they move the coffin from the Cathedral?

Thank you.

My heart goes out to the Italians.

I too know the pain of losing a tenner. ;-)

I realize what you mean...but just so the posting is clear.

The Ave Maria is by Verdi, performed by Raina

While I unfortunately was unable to see the concert, my understanding was that Bocelli performed Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus"

The Panis Angelicus was a recorded duet sung by Pavarotti and his father.

The music world is in extreme mourning...it has been a particularly bad year for opera...we've lost several unique and beautiful voices.
