I've released the kernel 3.14.1 with PR KVM support.

Quote
Support running guest kernels in virtual machines on processors without using hypervisor mode in the host, by running the guest in user mode (problem state) and emulating all privileged instructions and registers.  This is not as fast as using hypervisor mode, but works on machines where hypervisor mode is not available or not usable, and can emulate processors that are different from the host processor, including emulating 32-bit processors on a 64-bit host.

I have released the bugfix version 2 of the Vanilla kernel 3.14.

Download: vmlinux-3.14.2-KVM-PR-AmigaOneX1000.tar.bz2

The kernel 3.14.2 includes:

- KVM_BOOK3S_64_PR

Support running guest kernels in virtual machines on processors without using hypervisor mode in the host, by running the guest in user mode (problem state) and emulating all privileged instructions and registers.
This is not as fast as using hypervisor mode, but works on machines where hypervisor mode is not available or not usable, and can emulate processors that are different from the host processor, including emulating 32-bit processors on a 64-bit host.

- 3dfx Voodoo graphics card support
- Network support for AROS hosted
- Support for 4 serial ports
- Bluetooth USB dongle support
- Linux kernel icon for OS4.1 by Tommysammy

The Vanilla kernel 3.14.6 is available :)

Download: vmlinux-3.14.6-KVM-PR-FTRACE-AmigaOneX1000.tar.bz2

New:

- Kernel tracing with ftrace

The kernel 3.14.6 also includes:

  • KVM_BOOK3S_64_PR

Support  running guest kernels in virtual machines on processors without using  hypervisor mode in the host, by running the guest in user mode (problem  state) and emulating all privileged instructions and registers.
This  is not as fast as using hypervisor mode, but works on machines where  hypervisor mode is not available or not usable, and can emulate  processors that are different from the host processor, including  emulating 32-bit processors on a 64-bit host.
  • 3dfx Voodoo graphics card support
  • Network support for AROS hosted
  • Support for 4 serial ports
  • Bluetooth USB dongle support

ChangeLog-3.14.4
ChangeLog-3.14.5
ChangeLog-3.14.6

Just for info:
Debugging the kernel using Ftrace

My first S.u.S.E. Linux distribution (version 5.0 from 1997) with QEMU on my A1-X1000:

Windows NT with the universal VESA/VBE video display driver on QEMU:

Lubuntu 14.04 PowerPC with "PR" KVM enabled on QEMU is faster on my A1-X1000 than Lubuntu 14.04 PowerPC on QEMU on my 2.93GHz quad core PC. That's amazing.

Mac OS X on MOL and QEMU doesn't work with KVM-PR. But it works without KVM on QEMU.

Iceweasel 30 is available for Debian Sid PowerPC:

Code: [Select]
apt-get install -t experimental iceweasel

AmigaLinux.org is online. :)

Have a lot of fun with Linux on your AmigaOne X1000. :)
