A530 with CF setup | ||
Previous Image | Next Image | ||
Description: This pic shows my GVP A530 during basic performance and heat trials. Accelerator is wired to drain power from A500; if true SCSI HDD hooked, A530 cannot boot, not enough amps for HDD's motor spinup. Solution - upgrade to solid-state storage Revised setup includes: - 68040RC40 @40Mhz - 8Mb 60ns GVP FastRAM - GVPSCSI v4.15 ROM - ACARD AEC-7720U SCSI-IDE bridge - DeLock IDE-2-CF adapter - Sandisk Extreme 512Mb CF card Heat signature decreased drastically, now only CPU shows noticable heat increase above ambient temperature. I made provisions for installation of small heatsink/fan device to keep that CPU cooled and get some air moving accross PCB. Lorraine Posts:304 | October 04, 2008, 01:34:53 AM This is a sophisticated A500 add-on! I'm looking forward to seeing it all fitted and running after proof-testing (well that's if you plan to upload that eventually). |
Lockon_15 Posts:304 | October 02, 2008, 07:47:23 AM Thnx, guys. ;-) Promising, but still incomplete setup. I intend to put additional cooling on 030 since it tends to sweat under load. 8-) No matter what, this one is one of GVP's finest stuff ever developed. I'm wondering about size of their production run... :idea: |
