Title: We are happy to announce MorphOS 1.4.5 !
Post by: Acill on May 01, 2005, 05:05:26 PM
Celebrating the 1st month of opening Pandora's box with MorphOS 1.4.4, version 1.4.5 is now available.

This is hopefully the last bugfix update before the next full release, and solves many bugs and problems with the previous releases. Please note that the update is currently only available to users who have registered themselves. Users who have not yet registered will have to register at support.morphos-team.net.

Fixes in the 1.4.5 release include

Network drivers - Several important fixes since 1.4.4.

ac97mixer.library - Now supports the back panel microphone input.

parallel.device - Fixed for Pegasos 1.

ModeEdit/Radeon - 'Test' works with Radeon again.

bmp.datatype - Support for many more (all?) formats.

Poseidon USB subsystem - Updated to version 2.2 which supports many more devices, now also in the boot image.

Ambient 1.41SE - MorphOS now uses open source Ambient as default.

AHI - Updated to version 6.2.

Sound data types - Updated.

Defrag - New tool to error check and defrag SFS partitions.

These updates are making the Pegasos look like a very attractive purchase.

Indeed they do. :-)
The updates also seem to be released at a rather quick pace.

The MorphOS devs are on fire lately! I installed 1.4.5. It makes use of the new open-source Ambient, which allows you to shrink or enlarge all your icons. There is a new skin for Ambient and an SFS defrag tool. Other than those the changes seem to be beneath the surface...
