Dream Amiga/Pegasos
« on: January 07, 2004, 05:29:25 PM »
hey im sure many of you have thought about this but what if amiga or genesi made a machine with an A500/1200 style case,with everything built in to the keyboard, an optional USB floppy to save space, like with a slimine CD-rom drive in the side? it is possible, and if amiga or genesi made one of these sort of machines im sure they would sell hundreds/possibly thousands if they market it irghit. im sure me and many other amiga users would love a machine like this and would buy one right away. :-?

As you can imagine this has been disscussed quite a bit, While it sounds like a great idea... I doubt it has much comercial potential... One would be far better off getting a Laptop.

@HopperJF

I've fitted one into my old A500 case once, to see if it would fit.  My Pegasos fit fine.

But the market for this would be exceedingly limited, not much call for such setups anymore.
Try blazedmongers new Free Universal Computer kit, available with the GUI toolkit Your Own Universe, the popular IT edition, Extremely Reliable System for embedded work, Enhanced Database development and Wide Area Development system for telecommuting.

There is no market for that form factor now, it's a different world now :-(

CD-rom drive? rather a double-layered, double sided DVD-(every type)burner
