Title: Hello from Retronaut (Chris Thomas) from South Wales
Post by: Retronaut on December 10, 2023, 10:46:20 PM
Hey, I joined the forum a while back, but failed to activate acount for some reason. Odd, anyway. Just saying hi, and I have been working on a pet project for a while
Its a Youtube Retro Computing channel (what else)

https://www.youtube.com/@RetronautTech (https://www.youtube.com/@RetronautTech)

The channel will delve into a number of older machines, and of course, right up there, is the Amiga!

What are my Amiga creds, well, I owned an Amiga 500 a few days after they were released in the UK in October 87
I had wanted an Amiga 1000 (of course) but failed to have the £7000 (2023 equiv) to hand to actually buy one
Then in 1991 I was burgled and my beloved A500 was whisked away  :-[
But from its ashes (insurance cheque) I bought an Amiga 1500 and popped a 68030 in it, plus an AMax+ Apple emulator
A couple of years later I started working and upgraded to an Amiga 4000, and loved it, until I HAD to sell it to get an IBM PC, as I had to learn 3D Studio (PC only) for may day job

Jump to today, what do I have?
Well, an Amiga 500 (stock, nothing new in it yet)
An Amiga 2000, (black screen on purchase, battery damage, but I repaired it to working) which has an RGBtoHDMI and a PiStorm
And a year ago I got an A4000 again, battery damage, not working and I have just got it working

I would like to get a 68030 REAL card for my A2000 and a SCSI card for my Amiga4000 and maybe. RTG graphics card for it
Plenty of stuff to do eh
Anyway, nice to meet you all  ;)

Cheers

That 70s orange colour is hard to beat on that Binatone!
I had a Binatone telephone that died a few years ago, although I'm not sure if it's the same company.
