you people have got to lighten up man, Man, I never thought I would ever see a bunch of Amiga geeks pissed off at a joke aimed at the pc market.

it seems like your damned if you do and your damned if you dont

just take it as it was ment, a joke!!!  its nothing to get your panties all in a bunch about man,  I thought it was great, though it did not crash my system all I did was hit Ctrl/Alt/Del and in task menu end the process

Keep adding stuff like that, but please just make sure its not harmfull, just good clean fun.
There was a time I can remember computers were fun...I miss my A1200.

my anti-virus (F-Secure with proper updates) reports 'TrojanJS.Offiz' as a virus from that link... I know you think its funny to post links on websites to give people virii but I dont... and I think the real shame is that Wayne and the other admins find it funny too and therefore leave it here...

we're not all running AWeb on 030's guys..

 I found this

ok first, I dont think its ok to put virus's on some ones system

secound, I did do another scan and my system comes up clean

third, I am usinx XP Pro with sp1,  for some reason it did not freeze my alt/ctrl/del keys

maybe with older OS like 2000 pro or 98 or winme or maybe the effects may be harder felt

I just found it funny, I did not do a scan of the link itself (if its possible)

Didn't bother Netscape and I just added the popup to my popup killer once and they all died.  No big deal.

use a better antivirus like F-Secure or Panda  it'll pop up...or maybe just keep your updates fresh...even mcafee detects it... read that link I threw

I'm on Win2K it didnt freeze mine either...but its still a mild virii  and could/will effect those with Win98/etc ... alot of people come here while at work... think it's funny to crash someones machine while at work?

no Win2K but it would indeed effect ME/98  and previous...

yeah its funny to post links on purpose on the front page of a website... out of catagory... with the express intent of crashing peoples machines, spreading virii,  and causeing trouble for others ...  really funny...

There's a lovely function in Opera, that only opens pop-ups that you request yourself.

Just so that you people know :-D

I ran that link a couple of times myself (I'm using Win2k and Opera/IE) and no virii were present either times (I use AVG).  My brother-in-law also tried the link (WinXP and IE) and he never got a virus either (he uses McAfee).

Well, any kind of virus or pop-up snap isn't nice at all, but we must place the blame properly...

"Pop-up support should NOT exist in browsers, and  Acitve-X is a f***ing STUPID idea that should never have seen the light of day.  Hey, let's run executable code RIGHT OFF THE INTERNET!  It's OK, the security certificate says they said the friends of Microsoft said it's OK!"

I have my Active-X controls set to "prompt", and I never open any attachments in my e-mail that aren't picutres, like .gifs or .jpegs.

As a result, I haven't had a virus in more than four years.  The blame belongs on Microsoft, Sun, and all those other companies that write this idiotic web software that ALLOWS crackers to waltz right onto our systems and make our lives miserable.

BTW, I finally tried out Mozilla 1.4, and I like it a LOT more than earlier versions.  I think it's a keeper.   :-D
