Apart from the Mini - what is the fastest/best G4 machine that is supported by MorphOS? I was looking at G4 MDD's today at a recycler and they sure are cheaper than the last time I was there. Seems they are almost giving them away these days. Agreed they are just about useless for OSX but MorphOS FLIES on my Mini 1.5

Thanks,
Jeff

As far as I remeber that's not much faster or even slower in some aspects than original 1.42Ghz MDD. What is more prices of that Sonnet upgrades are just ridiculous.

Ruud has one of a NewerTech upgrade with 7448 at 2.13Ghz (something over 2Ghz anyway) but those processors are only experimentaly supported so they don't work with the full speed.

I did try the trial with the 30 minutes limitation but of course it will not install on an unsupported MAC.

It will not boot you mean, well... hardly surprising.

The unsupported models are unsupported for a reason: they need extra work. The network adapters are different, Radeon driver needs extra handling for laptop displays, etc, etc.

Oh as I said before: I am well aware of that! This is just pure curiosity. Obviously there is a check at boot that if the mac is not supported, it will not continue. My curiosity is: what if there wasn't a check, how far would it go? Where would it stop? No more, no less. If you ask me, an iBook  G4 has a VERY similar hardware to a Mac Mini G4, with the exception of the touchpad and maybe some extra stuff.
