Unfortunately, not going to happen. No site allows this generally and for good reason.

I respectfully disagree with you here.  In my experience the normal forum behaviour is to display small thumbnails of the attachments so that you can at least get the gist of what has been attached to the post.
For example, see here:

https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/threads/laser-diode-cw-driver.164040/

In contrast, this is how an amiga.org post with attachments looks (view it logged out):

For images it's possible to work around this issue using third party hosting.   See one of my posts, here:

https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?topic=74245.msg844631#msg844631

The issue, of course, is that we are then reliant upon a third party for future readability of the forum message.  Personally I agree with Paul's suggestion that it should at least be possible to see thumbnails of the attachments, even if you have to be logged in to see the full size images.

I was talking generally, I was gong to look at small previews.
Ah ok.  Then we are on the same wavelength.   ;D
That first link you gave is mad, to me that is not a forum. That is a blog site, like wordpress.
It's definitely a forum, although I would agree that the layout is not something that amiga.org should aspire to.  It is also more than a forum as well - there is a blogging aspect to it in terms of electronics articles etc.  Still, it served a purpose in terms of showing how a typical forum handles attachment thumbnails with a login requirement to view in full frame.  I thought we were having a difference of opinion on this point, but it transpires that we are not.   :)

I notice that you've been working on it.  Nice.
