Genetic Species and RTG
« on: April 29, 2003, 01:27:46 PM »
Yesterday I tried to play Genetic Species
on my A4000.. RTG-Master is installed
and the game starts nicely...

But when I choose the Resolution
640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 I only get a little
screen in the middle of the Monitor !

Is that normal ? Is there a solution to play this game
fullscreen on CGX ?

It's playable only on Lo-Res. There is a 640x480 version, but it's slow even with 060.

You can play Genetics in full-screen but only in 640x480 as a max.

I run it on A1200 060 w/Voodoo3 and it works fine... It's even fast...

Have you got the CD or Aminet version?

Be sure you set the game up properly so it matches your machine settings...

I play Genetic Species on my 030/40 and it's speed is very reasonable.  It should be fast on an 060.

GS was hardcoded for 320x240 resolution and that's what it plays at.

However, the update patch (which you should get, because it solves some nasty bugs) allows you to run in higher screenmodes by interpolation (stretching). It also allows a (buggy) 24bit mode.

IMO it doesn't look much different, but is a bit sharper - and a LOT slower.
